Hero by Samantha Young Blog Tour

Today I am part of the lovely Samantha Young's new book Hero's blog tour! Most of you will already know how much I really like Samantha's books so much and I am always highly recommending!
When the lovely Clara at Piatkus asked if I would love to be part of the tour I couldn't wait!

Hero is all about Alexa Holland and Caine Carraway. Alexa's father was her hero until she finds something shocking that her and her mum weren't his only family, So Alexa has tried to turn her life around but when she meets a man who's as damaged by her fathers mistakes, she must help him!
 Caine Carraway doesn't want anything to do with Alexa's efforts to redemption but its not so easy to push her away. He will do anything in his power to get her to walk away and leave him for good by ignoring her, being rude to her..however that just brings them together and they start an intense and explosive affair!

Wow! where can I start with Hero? I loved every freaking minute of it! It was pure intense every chapter, I really wanted to dislike Caine but my god he just sounds so gorgeous but obnoxious too which can make any girl weak at the knees!
I got frustrated at times as I just wanted to punch Caine for the way he was treating Alexa but I was also rooting for them to get together! You can tell deep down Caine is bit of a softy but is just so hard faced.

The one that was different with Hero to the other books sam has written On Dublin Street is this is set in Boston,America instead of Edinburgh like ODS! But the different scenery doesn't make this book anymore fantastic than it already can be!

Samantha knows how to write such amazing books and have her readers hooked by the first couple of pages! I know when I pick one of Samantha's books that I'm going to be engrossed so much for the next couple of hours. I recommend reading Hero and also Sam's other books too! 

I really have to award Hero my rare Gold star for being so amazing, full of rawness, passion and is most definitely worth 5star++

Today marks the publication date of Echoes of Scotland Street book in ebook & paperback in the US and just Ebook in the UK (Paperback out in January 2015 UK)

I am so happy to be part Echoes of Scotland Street's Blog Tour, I was asked and sent the book by the lovely Clara Diaz, She know's I am such a huge fan of Samantha's book and have read and reviewed every single book in the On Dublin Street Series.

What got me all excited about EOSS was the fact it was about Cole Walker who is much older now and so damn sexy hehe! For huge fan's of the On Dublin Street will have read about Cole in Down London Road with his sister Jo.

I absolutely adored reading Cole and Shannon's story so much! Samantha Young really knows how to get her readers so sucked into her books..by the end of the books you always feel lost and know that you've just finished a really good book.

 

You First read about Cole in Down London Road with his sister Jo and Cam, now Echoes of Scotland Street is about Cole Walker as he is older. At 15 years old Cole was a broken boy who's mother was a drunk but his sister Jo took the role of mum and looked after Cole throughout his young years but now Cole is back...Cole Walker just seems a bit of jack the lad with the cocky attitude and full of tattoos as he is a tattooist but he is a big softie at heart which is so lovely to read about in EOSS. He may come across as a bit scary too but he is loving and caring towards Shannon its cute!

Shannon Macleod I felt I could really relate to her with her past boyfriends just as mine. She could be an inspiration for all women out there. I was so squealing for joy with her and Cole all the way through the book. They are a match made in heaven couple for sure!

Eeeeek its always good reading the new On Dublin street series book as you always get to read what the other the characters from the other books with what they have been upto.

Echoes of Scotland Street is just a fantastic and amazing book. You will have plenty of laughs with the chemistry between Cole and Shannon. but also you see new faces in Simon, Stu, Rae, Tony, Logan, Amanda, Tamara, Jessica all make this book so enjoyable to read.

Samantha Young you have done it again, writing an amazing and enjoyable read! Can't wait for Logan's book hehe!

I am such a huge fan of Samantha Young's books and I have fallen in love with the On Dublin street Series of books so much, i have many book boyfriends now thanks to Samantha. Fall From India Place is no different and was even more intense & beautiful.

Fall From India Place is just brilliant, I was hooked right away and even finished in hours. I loved reading about Hannah and Marco, while reading you could tell they had unfinished business and that it was going to get messy and nasty before it could get sweet & cute. The chemistry between Hannah and Marco, definitely has you gripping your seat rooting for them to make up and live happily ever after. It was great to also read some familiar names from past On Dublin Street series (eg, Braden & Joss, Jo & Cam..)and what they are all up to now.

This fab book is written so perfectly with plenty of things to have you hooked within the characters lifes but also plenty of passion & sparks flying. The style of writing is superb, you really get to understand Hannah & Marco.This is why the On Dublin Street series is doing so amazingly well with the characters and the storylines are fantastic.

Fall from India Place is an emotional roller-coaster but your going to love the characters alot. you will feel both their pains but will be smiling by the time you get to the last page. if You love the On Dublin Street series then your going to love this. Fall From India Place is one book your not going to want to put down, I certainly couldn't..

Once again Samantha you have written a perfect book and cannot wait for more in the series. For any new readers of Samantha Young's you must read all of her books, they amazing with plenty of emotions,laughter, love, sexual chemistry and just pure brilliant.

My Top 10 Books in 2013

2013 Has been a fantastic year of some wonderful books! Here in this post I am going to show you my top 10 books of 2013.
It is so hard to pick my favourite 10 as they were all amazing! But I have a few books who really did stick in my mind for a while after reading.
As a bookworm you will always find every book is your fav!

Number 10 - 

 The First Last Kiss by Ali Harris - This book just had me in floods of tears all the way through, also made me realise how short life can be and never take anything for grated. My Review of The First Last Kiss

 Cold Killing by Luke Delaney - the debut book for Luke Delaney and it was a very thrilling read! I love a good crime read and this certainly was! My Review of Cold Killing

 It's Got To Be Perfect by Haley Hill - What a fun and wonderful memoirs of a modern-day matchmaker! This was a perfect new book by Haley and it was funny to read and enjoyable. My Review of It's Got To Be Perfect

Verdict

WOW! it was so great to catch up with Joss and Braden once again! I was introduced to On Dublin Street in the summer and boy am I glad to have read the book because I have been hooked ever since and been reading every book in the series!

Samantha Young you are a wonderful author! Please keep showering us with this handsome book boyfriends and these wonderful books that we can never forget about after reading!
Castle Hill is just a Novella a suppose a little sneak peak into their busy lives after On Dublin Street. There is 6 chapters but them 6 chapters will leave you being blown away and want more of Joss & Braden again!

I don't want to give to much away as its only short but let's just say there is a wedding, an argument( always is with Joss & Braden hehe), plenty of sex scenes!
Jocelyn & Braden are certainly the most loved up and adorable book couple ever and anyone who hasn't read their story needs to read right now!

The best thing about Castle Hill is that you have little snippets from On Dublin Street in which you remember and makes you want to grab your copy and read over and over.

First of all I need to say a big Thank You to Katie Sheldrake for my review copy of Down London Road.
I adored this so so much just like I did with On Dublin Street, At first I was puzzled as this being in the ODS series I didn't know who Johanna Walker was but once started reading I realised Jo works with Joss or Jocelyn from ODS at Club 39 which made me a little excited because we got to read a bit more Braden and Joss too hehe.

I knew from when I got this book that I was going to love this book just as much as I did with ODS, You can easily warm to all the characters thanks to the way Samantha writes and describes them well. So we meet Johanna Walker or Jo to everyone, is always juggling things in her life one looking after her younger brother Cole and two always working to keep things afloat for her and Cole. With their dad not around and their mum not very useful, Jo has to keep her family together at all costs...but when a new handsome guy called Cam starts work at the club, can Jo stop herself from being very attracted to him or could things go wrong?

I loved this book and it was amazing, It is definitely has plenty of emotion throughout which for any reader will keep you hooked and always to read more and more. It was great to see Joss and Braden back in the book and reading more about them made me very happy indeed, I loved how Johanna & Cole where always invited for family dinner at Braden's mum & dad's house, it just made you understand the closeness between the whole family and how friendly they all are.
At First I couldn't quite warm up to Cam, I thought he came across as a bit of prick and bit big headed but once I started to see Jo and Cam's relationship blossom I thought he was quite a warming guy who would do anything for Jo with all costs although Jo's insecurities were always going to get in the way.
I wasn't a big fan of Jo's dad, he was an utter tool and for him to do that to his daughter was quite sickening.

Five words to describe this book... Laughter, tears, smiles, Amazingness & Emotional

I just urge you all that you are going to love this book just as much I did and I hope to see more of On Dublin Street series, maybe with Ellie and Adam next time ;)

Author Interview with Samantha Young

With the publishing of Down London Road (On Dublin Street #2) just around the corner on 9th May, I had the lovely privilege of interviewing the ever so lovely Samantha Young on my blog today to tell us all a little bit about her new book Down London Road but also what inspired her to follow her dream of being an author.. Read on to see what Samantha told me.

1) Could you tell us a little bit about it?

Down London Road is the second book from the world of On Dublin Street and it follows the story of Johanna Walker, a young twenty-something whose loyalty to her little brother is absolute. She makes decisions based on what is best for him, including dating men who can provide financial security. However, her whole outlook on life and on herself changes when Cameron MacCabe comes into her life and shows her that she just has to believe in herself like he does…

2) What inspired you to follow your dream and become an author?

Honestly, I was at my lowest point career-wise when I decided to put my all into becoming an author. I’d always been a good student so to come out of university with no job prospects except for the part time job I’d had as a student was demoralizing. I ended up returning to the work I’d done before I’d gone to university - admin work - and then I was let go due to budget cuts. Jobless but with three written manuscripts around me I decided to self-publish and put all my time and energy into making a career out of a passion. 

3) Which book have you enjoyed writing the most?

Down London Road. There were many good things going on my career as I wrote Down London Road so that definitely helped, but I absolutely loved writing Jo’s story. She’s one of my favourite characters and my first Scottish heroine. I’m proud of her and how she develops as a person over the course of the story.

4) What will you have planned to Celebrate the publication of Down London Road ?

I wish I had something planned but unfortunately I’m in the middle of a never ending house move so I don’t think the celebrating will commence until a few weeks after the release. I think we’ll have a wee party to celebrate the release and also the move finally being over!

5) I adored On Dublin Street, will we see more of Braden & Jocelyn in the future?

Definitely. 

6) If you could describe Down London Road in 10 words...

Emotional, hot, real, sexy, authentic, earthy, funny, passionate, relatable, moving.

7) What book are you currently reading and is it worth recommending?

I’m currently re-reading the Downside Ghosts series by Stacia Kane. It’s one of my absolute favourite series. It’s a uniquely different world Stacia Kane has created but also probably the best chemistry between two main characters ever!

8) Do you have any more ideas for future On Dublin Street series books?

I’ve just signed a deal with Penguin for a third book in the On Dublin Street series. More info on that will be revealed soon…

9) If you could choose any country or place to live, where would it be?

I think I’d like to live in Boston or Seattle temporarily but I’ll always come back to Scotland.

10) Not that I don't enjoy your books , but do you think you will ever write any stories without sex?

I think all my books will have a hint of romance but I think there are some books that I have in mind for the future that aren’t so romance-based and thus sex won’t play as important a role.

11) How do you get these hunky handsome men in your books so hooked for us readers?

Lol, I just write men that are perfect for my heroines. They have a touch of the alpha male which is hot, because a confident man is always hot, but they also understand my heroines are independent and can compromise with that. I think that makes them more likeable to readers.

12) If you were stranded on a desert island, what 3 items would you take?

If the desert island had electricity I’d taken my kindle, its charger and a lifetime supply of crisps. If the desert island didn’t have electricity, which is more than likely, I’d take my paperback of The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness, The Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead and a lifetime supply of crisps.

13) Have you started planning your next book, if so could you give us a little hint?

I’m working on the third book in the On Dublin Street series, but I also have a secret project I’ve been working on too…

14) Did you have to do any research for any of your books?

I had to do research on Virginia for On Dublin Street and research on some Americanisms, but because the books are set so close to home, I didn’t have to do nearly as much research on this series as I’ve had to do for my young adult urban fantasy books.

15) Are you a Kindle convert or do you. still enjoy a good paperback?

I adore my kindle but I still love my paperbacks. I just love books.

I truly adored this book ever so much, I was hooked and had to finish in a day because I loved so much. If you are big fans of Fifty shades or Crossfire series then you are going to love this, Yes there is plenty of hot sex but there is also a deep love story between a woman & a man and what depths they will go to to have their passion.

We meet Jocelyn Butler a young woman who lost her family when she was a little girl and brought up with a foster family. Now capable of growing up by herself moves to Scotland for a fresh start and to hide away from her past, Until she meets a dark and handsome man in a suit who is going to rock her world...

Here walks in Braden Carmichael a very wealthy business man who knows how to get his own way with his own dark past but does wear his heart on his sleeve when it comes to family.

Jocelyn moves in with Ellie who just so happens to be Braden's sister and Braden is not going to give up the chase until he has Jocelyn in his bed... Can he get his own way? Or Will Jocelyn hide away just like she did with her family past? ....

I can't express how much I truly loved this book so so much, It was amazing, a truly great love story but also with plenty of hot steamy sex scenes too, made me blush quite a lot hehe.
I just loved the friendships and relationship brought a different side to Jocelyn or Joss as she keeps wanting to be called. I was very happy for her right at the end, tehe!

I couldn't just pick one favourite character, I had to have two, My favourite characters would have to be Ellie Carmichael, she reminded me of herself as she was a bubbly kinda girl and friendly, she even brought out another side to Jocelyn as well which was lovely and Also Jocelyn because I loved how Samantha had written Jocelyn's character so perfect and broken but deserving a happy life, she comes across an independent woman but slowly Braden manages to peel away each layer like an onion showing Jocelyn's true feelings on life which is good because plenty of women can relate to that.

I Thank Samantha Young for writing this book, it was perfect and I hope to see more of Jocelyn and Braden in the future...
