Fiction Addiction Book Tours: Review of Slope Of Love by Melissa Foster

Title: Slope of Love

Author: Melissa Foster
Publisher: World Literary Press
Publication Date: 21st April 2014

Blurb
Olympic gold medalist skiers Jayla Stone and Rush Remington have been best friends for years. They've seen each other at their best and worst and have kept each other's secrets without fail. Only there's one secret Rush has kept close to his chest. After months of introspection, Rush realizes he's been filling his bed but not tending to his heart. He's changed his womanizing ways, and the only woman who can fill his heart has been right by his side all this time.

Years of intimate conversations and the sharing of hopes and dreams collide when Rush reveals his secret, and one toe-curling kiss changes everything between Rush and Jayla. They're no match for the passion that kiss ignites, or the pull of true love. But being Rush's best friend means knowing all about his revolving bedroom door--and Jayla has a secret of her own that could jeopardize her career and her relationship with Rush. Even their love may not be enough to overcome Rush's past or secure Jayla's future.

Verdict

I want to say a massive thank you to Sharon at Fiction Addiction for letting me be part of this wonderful book of Melissa Foster's fabulous book series.
First of, I love the cover so much, looks very sexual and you just know it's a book that going to be full of chemistry between two characters.

In Slope of Love we meet Olympic gold medalist skiers Jayla Stone and Rush Remington, they have been best friends for years.Seen each other at their best and their worst, Rush has kept one secret close to himself, a womanizer but now he realised what he really wants and the only woman who can fill his heart...Will he succeed?

I have loved every single book in this series, Slope of Love was just as amazing, You easily get drawn into the chapters and you easily fall in love with the characters.
As soon as I was into the first couple of chapters, I knew i was going to love reading about Rush and Jayla, Reading about their chemistry and their friendship was so cute and lovely.

Jayla Stone is a such a sweet girl but can also be stubborn in which doesn't help in her favour at times, but also knows shes got a great friendship/relationship with Rush.
Rush Remington is a hunky skier, who used to be a womanizer but has finally changed his ways and is out to prove it to one lovely lady in his life. He comes across as so sweet and caring, and will do anything for the woman that he loves.

I don't want to give to much away about Slope of Love as you need to curl up and read it for yourself. It's one of those books that your going to enjoy this so much, you will laugh, you may cry but you will also fall in love.

Slope of Love can be read on its own but if you want to enjoy the characters more and read more like this book then its great to read the rest of the series, in which il list the series below.

A Fantastic book in the series once again, I fell in love with Rush's & Jayla's relationship, i cried but also laughed hell of a lot too.

Fiction Addiction Book Tour: Author Interview with GVR Corcillo

Hi, Abbey! Thanks for inviting me on over to this whimsical and delightful Miss Bookworm site! I am so looking forward to this chat.

Why did you choose GVR Corcillo as your pen name?
GVR Corcillo is how I choose to represent myself on my books, but it is not really a pen name – it is my complete name. And I decided that since when I write, I draw upon every aspect of who I am, my name should represent who I am. GVR Corcillo stands for Geralyn Vivian Ruane Corcillo. My given name is Geralyn Ruane. Then, when I was in 7th grade, I lied to a priest in order to snag Vivian as my middle name. For Confirmation, I was supposed to choose a saint's name, but I had just seen Gone With the Wind, so I told the priest Vivian was my grandmother's name, and he let me take it. It isn't, but do I feel guilty about lying? Hardly.  What does the Church expect, letting 7th grade girls choose their own names? Many years later, I married Ron Corcillo and chose to change my last name to Corcillo. Many of my friends were surprised by my decision, but I don't see what's so empowering about keeping my Dad's name. Thus, I became Geralyn Vivian Ruane Corcillo – a name that represents all of me - the laughter, the pain, the triumph, the tears, the elation, the disappointments, the hope, the emptiness, the kindness - and everything else that comprises a life. But 4 names is quite a mouthful, so...GVR Corcillo!

Now, how did you decide on the name for your book? Do some people get it wrong and think the book is erotica?
Some people do, yes! Every once in a while I will get an angry one star review, and if I look to see what else the reader has rated, I will discover mostly erotica books among that reviewer's favorites. But I am not trying to fool anyone. I specifically chose a goofy illustrated cover in order to get across the humor of the book. My next book, Queen of the Universe, generates no such titular confusion. (Okay, pun intended.) The title She Likes It Rough is meant to make you look twice, for sure, but it is also tongue-in-cheek – the heroine Lisa is ALWAYS making life hard on herself, and throughout the book, during her adventures, she is quite literally choosing the rougher path!

The inciting incident of Lisa's quest to change herself – the freak fast-food accident – is bizarre and hilarious. How did you come up with idea of having a fast-food drive thru crush and nearly kill your heroine?
First I came up with the idea of Lisa getting so depressed by NOT fitting into wedding gowns that she responds by completely pigging out at a fast-food restaurant – totally emblematic of how Lisa makes decisions that make her life less and less satisfying. From there, I knew something had to happen with the fast food to shake Lisa up. Why the fast-food? Because one of the themes of the book is that Lisa must learn to stop avoiding her life's wishes and goals, always relying on crutches to get her through the day. So it was crucial that one such crutch – comfort food – is what almost does her in.

What genre does your book come under?
When my book was free for five days on Amazon, it was in the Top 5 all five days in the Humor category. It was also in the Top 5 all five days in the Romantic Comedy category. So it fits nicely into either of those genres. And of course – don't look now! - I am about to call my book...Chick Lit!!! The genre Chick Lit has been reviled and declared dead practically since it's inception, but just look at Meg Cabot's books and Sophie Kinsella's books and Helen Fielding's books. Chick Lit is anything but dead!! She Likes It Rough has also so far advanced to the Quarter Finals of the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Awards in the Romance category, so the book can slide into the Romance genre as well. All this being said, I must admit, I am not a big fan of pigeon-holing books into categories. I often wonder what would happen if J.D. Salinger's Catcher in the Rye were released today. Would it be labelled Young Adult and dismissed by “serious” literary critics the world over? Would it make it to the reading list in almost every high school in America? Maybe not.

What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
Helen Fielding's Bridget Jones's Diary. The playful irreverence of the story as a woman tries to become the hero of her own life echoes throughout my book. With one big difference. My heroine Lisa's goal is never to get a guy or get married. Her prime directive is to make her life count for something, to become more significant. Her interaction with the hero Jack is a big part of that journey, but Lisa never focuses on her 'single' status as something she needs to remedy. Because of this shift, She Likes It Rough reminds me of Lisa Lutz's Izzy Spellman Series. Though my book is not a mystery, it uses wacky situations to explore not only romance, but relationships with family, career angst, and ways and means of getting along with the rest of the populated world.

Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
I can easily see She Likes It Rough as a major motion picture starring Scarlett Johansson and James Franco. In The Avengers and in Captain America, as Black Widow, Scarlett Johansson has shown that she can play tough and bold and adventurous. And her turn in The Nanny Diaries shows how well she can play a more tentative character – making her so easy to picture as the perfect Lisa. And James Franco – no matter what I have seen him in - including Veronica Mars, where he pokes fun at himself! - he exudes confidence and a complete comfort with who he is – and that is Jack to a T.

I notice She Likes It Rough won Best Indie Book 2013. Congratulations!
Thanks!

How or why did you decide to indie publish this novel?
It's all because of Leonard Wang Kingsley! I went to school with him, and we met up again a few years ago at a class reunion. So, we began emailing each other. (We live on opposite coasts.) I talked a lot about my writing goals and aspirations. Last spring, he sent me an email suggesting I self-publish my novel. Really? I thought. Could I be so bold? He sent me a list of everything I would need to do, and ever since that email, I have been working on everything on that list! Also Debra Holland, a wonderfully generous and phenomenally successful author that I have known for years, has been another inspiration. She self-published several of her novels two years ago and has blasted a beacon of light and guidance across the world of publishing.

Often you hear about the “bells and whistles” aspect of a book – the exciting hook that's going to make people pick up the book. What are the “bells and whistles” of She Likes It Rough?
Kick-ass Jack and and clutzy Lisa'a adventures out in the wild! Their derring-do in the great outdoors was so much fun to research and write! Lisa is so scared, but she steps up and jumps when Jack coaches her to jump - into the middle of the ocean, off a cliff, out of a plane. Lisa leaps completely out of her own world, which is dominated by pop culture references to the movies, TV shows, songs, books, and commercials she's been surrounded by all her life. How she melds what happens in the wild with what goes on in her everyday life is the essence of the story.

Why did you start writing?
Because I had nothing to lose. It took me a long time to figure that out. I have wanted to “BE A WRITER” since eighth grade when I stated my intentions to my English teacher, Mrs. Sheehan. And she said, “That's good. You have a flair for writing.” And for the next twenty years, I dreamed about “BEING A WRITER.” But I didn't act on this dream because I was petrified that if I actually tried to be a writer, I might not become the world's most amazing best-selling powerhouse that I wanted to be. So, I graduated from college but did not seriously pursue writing as a career. But you know what? I didn't pursue anything else seriously either, because truly, I was saving my heart and soul for writing. By the time I was in my mid-thirties and tired of paycheck to paycheck jobs, I finally decided, “What the hell? I may as well write – I'm not really doing anything else anyway! What have I got to lose?” I had finally come to understand that for me, getting immediately rich and famous, while that would be great and is by no means off the table, isn't as important as simply loving the work I do every day. So now I spend every waking minute I can spare, and many minutes when I should be sleeping, working hard on my writing career.

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
Years! This book has gone through so many incarnations. Very little is left from the first 'first' draft except the hero's name and the scene in his office that involves the wetsuit. Over those years, not only the story, but also my writing style was evolving as I became more and more comfortable with and confident about my own voice.

What kind of advice would you give to aspiring writers?
Find that balance between your vision and what critique partners and beta readers say about your writing.  If people critiquing your work understand your story, characters, and goals, and they give you advice on how to more effectively convey your narrative - great! But beware of beta readers who simply want your story to go a different way because that is how THEY would have written it. Stick to your vision, but be willing to consider advice on how to better convey that vision.

Tell us something interesting about yourself that not many people know..
I can no longer give blood because I am a possible carrier of Mad Cow Disease. What can I say? It happens.

Thanks, Abbey! This was fun. I look forward to lots of comments from your followers and fans – I love to connect with fellow bookworms! So, everyone, if you have a question of your own, or just want to shoot the breeze, I'll be here all day :)

Fiction Addiction Book Tour: Game Of Love by Melissa Foster

Title: Game of Love: The Remingtons
Author: Melissa Foster
Publication Date: 17th February 2014

Blurb
Ellie Parker is a master at building walls around her heart. In the twenty-five years she’s been alive, Dex Remington has been the only person who has always believed in her and been there for her. But four years earlier she came to Dex seeking comfort, and then disappeared like a thief in the night, leaving him a broken man.

Dex Remington is one of the top PC game developers in the U.S. He’s handsome, smart, and numb. So damn numb that he’s not sure he’ll ever find a reason to feel again.

A chance encounter sparks intense desires in Ellie and Dex. Desires that make her want to run—and make him want to feel. A combination of lust and fear leads these young lovers down a dangerous path. Is it possible to cross a burned bridge or are they destined to be apart forever?

Verdict
This is a new series of characters but also part of the Love in Bloom series by the lovely Melissa Foster, If you haven't read Sisters in bloom series and also Lovers in heart series with hunky men, I'd defo go grab them right away!

I am a huge fan of the Love In Bloom series when I found out Melissa was doing a fresh set of characters or hunky men should I say, I was jumping for joy hehe!
Game of Love starts with the sexy Dex Remington one of the top PC game developers in the U.S , he is very handsome, smart and numb.
Ellie Parker is 25 years old, Dex is the only person who has always believer in her and always been there. There is something between Ellie and Dex but can Ellie get over her past and can Dex have his heart healed again..

This is a great story, I loved every minute of it. Who wouldn't love a hunky man eh?
I loved the closeness between Dex and Ellie already and I knew they could pull through.
Yes there is plenty of sex scenes in this, but it wouldn't be right for a book by Melissa Foster not to have any hehe!
Dex and Ellie are clearly made for each other and even though Ellie has tendency to run away from problems and leave Dex heartbroken, She always comes back to him and they work through it.

A beautiful read in which I am going to carry on reading the rest of the series because the great thing with Melissa's books is that you get snippets of each of the other Remington children before you get their full story.
Game of Love is a story about Love, Heartbreak, Family's coming together & beautiful.

Blurb

The problem is that Holden Finn is a twenty-three-year-old pop megastar with his boy band, Every Which Way, and has no idea she exists. Not only that, but half the women in the world want to be Mrs Finn, including Bonnie’s teenage daughter, Paige. The real men in Bonnie’s life do nothing but let her down, but a man you can’t possibly have can never do that… right? She’s safe inside her fantasy bubble.

Then Paige wins a radio competition to meet Holden and the band, and Bonnie’s carefully-constructed world starts to unravel. She is about to find out that you should be very, very careful what you wish for …

Verdict
Firstly I love the cover of this so much, It's beautiful and so very eye catching!
I have huge thanks to Tilly herself for sending me a copy of this beautiful book & also to Sharon Goodwin for letting me part of Fiction Addiction Book Tours for this lovely book.

This book is just damn right perfect and a great easy read. You are going to laugh so much and will get hooked ever so quickly. This is the first book I have read by Tilly and I hope to read many more by her too!

I Loved Bonnie so much, reading about her having a crush on Holden Finn, a 23 year old pop megastar with his boy band, Every Which Way was just so cute but also bit cringey too especially when Bonnie's daughter Paige loves that band so much, I was in giggles though with certain bits of the book!
Paige is just your typical teenager either trying to get her own way or cringes at her mum's behaviour but you will love reading about Bonnie and her daughter Paige. Yes they don't have very much money but do many single parent families? Bonnie does the best she can and has some lovely friends/work colleagues!

I just loved the crazy talks between Bonnie and her friend/work colleague Linda, It kind of reminded me of me and my best friend and how crazy we are together and are always plotting things, and that's how Linda comes across in this book especially when she is trying to set Bonnie and Max up hehe!

I feel if you love chick-lit and easy reads then you are going to love this so much! Tilly Tennant has done a fabulous job of writing this book, you are going to fall in love with the book, maybe even with a few of the characters but you may also want to punch one of them in the face hehe!
Hopelessly Devoted To Holden Finn deserves 5 star rating because you will want to curl up and read this great book in one sitting!

About The Author
Tilly Tennant was born in Dorset but now lives in Staffordshire with her slightly nutty family. Tilly is married to Mr Tennant (not that one, though a girl can dream). She wrote her first novel in 2007 during her first summer break at university and has not stopped writing since. She also works as a freelance editor, and considers herself very lucky that this enables her to read many wonderful books while getting paid for it.

Join the country scene to find out!

Verdict
I Thank Mandy Baggot & Sharon Goodwin from Fiction Addiction Book Tours for letting me part of this tour.
I have never read a book by Mandy before although I do love all her book covers so my mission for the rest of this year is to read more of Mandy's books woohoo!

Let's get down to the business of this review, Firstly I loved the cover, who wouldn't love a cover with a hot cowboy with a guitar?
I have never really listened to country music but after reading Made In Nashville I actually just wanted to get some cowboy boots on, a cowboy hat and dance to country music hehe!
We meet Honor Blackwood who was attacked on stage 10 years ago and left with a scar but is also scared deep down too, She was Nashville's brightest country music star but is now the time to make a come back?
We also meet the hunky country rebel & rock star Jared "Jed" Marshall he is hot, wild & every lady wants a piece of him but he only has his eyes set for one lady and that is Honor Blackwood.

This is a fab story! I loved how we got both Jared's & Honor's side of their story and you soon easily get to know them both & by half way through you will be squealing and shouting yayyy!! :)
I loved how we got to know about Honor and her accident, how it has affected her mentally but also physically. Honor hates looking in the mirror because her scar always reminds her what happened that fateful night 10 years ago. I was so cheering along for her & Jared to get it on, I could just imagine them being such a cute couple who I loved reading about.
I loved how Jared came across as such a rebel & rock star who never listens to rules but I loved how at times we got to see the softer side of him & how vulnerable he can be at times too.

Mandy has written such a great book that will have you giggling, also maybe shed a few tears but I do feel you will fall in love with this book & how you will want more from Honor & Jared for sure!

Made In Nashville deserves a terrific 5 star rating for having a hunky country music cowboy who you will certainly drool about all through the book hehe!

Fiction Addiction Book Tour: Book Review: Where Petals Fall by Melissa Foster

Title: Where Petals Fall

Author: Melissa Foster
Publisher: World Literary Press
Publication Date: 15th November 2013

BlurbOn the surface Junie Olson’s life looks idyllic, from her handsome husband and beautiful daughter to her successful business, the bakery she always dreamed of opening. But in the past few months her world has slowly unraveled. Her precocious child is withdrawing, showing unexplainable signs of emotional regression, a condition that frays the bonds of Junie’s once impenetrable marriage. When her father dies suddenly of a heart attack, Junie packs up her daughter and goes home to help her mother. Her homecoming stirs up memories of the nightmare she thought she had put behind her, the disappearance of her childhood friend, Ellen. Haunted by recurring memories of what happened on that fateful day, Junie must gather the courage to revisit her past and untangle the secrets surrounding her missing friend, and the trauma that has caused her little girl to climb back into herself. As the pieces come together on the event that shook her small town, and at the risk of losing everyone she loves, Junie will question everything she thought she could rely on and everyone she thought she knew.

Verdict
I am a big fan of Melissa Foster's books but Where Petals Fall is a different style of book that im used to reading by Melissa however it was still a good read.

Junie Olson looks like she has the perfect life with her handsome husband,a beautiful daughter and a very successful bakery business. But slowly her life is unraveling in the past few months. When her father suddenly dies of a heart attack, Junie packs up with her daughter and moves in with her mother, her homecoming stirs up memories of the nightmare she thought she had put behind her, the disappearance of her childhood best friend Ellen. When things start to haunt Junie's memories, she must have the courage to revisit the past and try and piece the past together and find out what really happened to her friend.

The first couple of chapters it starts off a bit slow but then when Junie starts to revisit the past, it gets better but with plenty of emotion.
Junie's daughter Sarah isn't talking and is not sleeping well at night either wetting the bed or climbing into her mum and dad's bed, but Brian, Junie's husband thinks she is doing it on purpose but something must obviously be upsetting Sarah or be playing on her mind that she doesn't want to talk.
The characters great in this, I wasn't sure about Brian, thought he came across a bit shifty and that he didn't really care about Junie & Sarah anymore. Ruth Junie's mother, However even after losing her husband gave Junie plenty of strength and always seemed to be there to help Junie.

Where Petals Fall is a story full of suspense, emotion and full of secrets. Just when you think you know the ending, Foster completely throws you and it ends up being totally different to what you predicted.
For big fans of suspense and secret books & fans of Melissa Fosters books are going to love this.
I'd like to thank Melissa & Sharon Goodwin( Fiction Addiction Book Tours) for letting me take part in this blog tour.

Fiction Addiction Book Tour Review: Destined For Love(The Bradens #2) By Melissa Foster

Title: Destined For Love

Author: Melissa Foster
Publisher: World Literary Press
Publication Date: 28th November 2013

Blurb

Rex Braden is wealthy, hard working, and fiercely loyal. Sweat at his brow, he works the family ranch by day, then kicks back at night with part time lovers who require nothing more than his physical presence a few times each week. But that was before. Before Jade Johnson, the daughter of the man his father has been feuding with for over forty years, moves back into town.

After ditching a horrific relationship—and her veterinary practice in the process—Jade Johnson returns to the safety of her small hometown and finally finds her footing. That is...until her horse is injured and Rex Braden comes to her rescue. The last thing she needs is a bull-headed, too-handsome-for-his-own-good Braden complicating her life.

Despite the angry family history, sparks fly between Rex and Jade, and attitudes follow. Fifteen years of stifled, forbidden love stirs a surge of passion too strong for either to deny—and the rebel in each of them rears its powerful head. Loyalties are tested, and relationships are strained. Rex and Jade are about to find out if true love really can conquer all.

Verdict

What a beautiful and moving story between Rex Braden and Jade Johnson!
It was amazing and I loved reading every minute of this book! It is slow pacing at the beginning but then soon speeds up when we get to the better parts between Rex and Jade! I just loved reading the chemistry they had and how their lives being torn as their fathers fell out really badly and have never spoken since, It kind of reminded me of Romeo & Juliet, the Montague's and the Capulet's. The whole both side's not allowed to talk or go on each other's land's but it is so hard when Romeo(Rex) and Juliet(Jade) so fall deeply in love with each other that they just don't know how to be together in public and for their families not to be angry.

The is some very saucy scenes between Rex and Jade which could make you blush if when reading in public hehe! But I just love the way the characters are so connected all the way through and are obviously wanting to do everything they can to be together.
I Loved this whole "dance of two lovers" and the story with the necklaces with charms of a man and a woman.. I thought that was ever so cute!

Destined for love is just a great book that is the second book in the Braden's series but is over all the 5th book in the love in bloom series! I cannot wait to read the rest of these books as I feel that they are all going to be just fab and I will be recommending them to everybody! (I am now off to start the next book in the series I just cannot wait to read more on these Braden lads ;) wit woo) hehe!

I want to thank Sharon Goodwin for letting me part of the Fiction Addiction Book Tour for Destined For Love and I want to thank Melissa Hill for being a fab author and writing such a great new series!

*I was given an ARC copy of Resolutions in return for an honest Review.*

O M G! why haven't I heard of Teri Riggs before?? Seriously? Resolutions is fantastic! It is only an e-book of 213 pages but it is a fast pacing read that will leaving you wanting more of Eve Taylor and Mac Mckenna for sure.

Resolutions is an action packed read in which DEA Agent Eve Taylor is on a mission to gather evidence on a drug lord, she discovers the drug lord is helping terrorists plan an attack on American soil. But the mission goes wrong and Eve ends up being captured by the drug lord which turns out very nasty for sure.
That's when Resolutions operative Mac Mckenna gets put on the mission to rescue his former lover Eve Taylor...

It was a fantastic read, such brilliantly written and keeps you guessing all the way through! I am soo shocked I have never read this before tbh, I could happily read it again for sure! I will definitely recommended this book to everyone!
I loved the love/hate relationship between Eve and Mac but I think we all know they were going to make up and get back together hehe...although Teri soon makes you keep guessing.

In every action book you always have to have a hero and Mac Mckenna was certainly that! I kept trying to picture someone to fit his type, It would have to be this hotty for sure
Gerard Butler....Yummmy! hehe

Fast Pacing and A romantic Hero too.. what more could you want from this book?
didn't like it didn't like it didn't like it didn't like it didn't like it
I Truly had to rate Teri Riggs an amazing 5 Star rating as I think Resolutions deserves it very much!

Fiction Addiction Book Tours Guest Post : I Found You by Jane Lark

Fiction Addiction Book Tours Guest Post : I Found You by Jane Lark
Published: 5th December 2013
Would you go home with a stranger?
That’s what Rachel does in chapter one of I Found You… But would you?
Mmm… I think to go back with a man who is a complete stranger I would have to be in the place Rachel is, homeless on the streets, not thinking straight and penniless…
I did meet a girl in a bar when I was nineteen who was in that position and probably would have. She’d been made homeless that day, she’d been kicked out of her boyfriend’s family’s house and she had nowhere to sleep that night. I’d never met her before. I even ended up getting her a job where I worked… I won’t tell you the story that followed that, it’s hers not mine. But she never laid down any roots anywhere and no one ever got to really know her, and she was the only habitual liar I have ever met. I mean she lied about everything and so many meaningless things. I learned a lot of new stuff about life from her. It was an interesting friendship. Rachel isn’t this girl, nothing like her. But this girl did take risks. She would have gone back with a man who was a complete stranger just to have somewhere to stay. So people do; people in Rachel’s situation anyway.
I can get inside Rachel’s mind a little though. I did have some colourful years in my youth when I spent nights on floors in people’s houses after we’d got talking in the pub, and instead of walking home I just used to stay there in a chair or a sofa. I spent nearly two years living like that, floor or sofa camping most weekends, and not with any regular group of friends. But what made me decide to trust a person enough to take the risk of going back to their house - balance of risk;
* Women I always considered safer, obviously – so if it was a woman who asked me back, or other women had been invited too, my judgement reduced the risk.
* But men… I’ve always considered myself a fair judge of character, I guess I judged by the look in their eyes, and their smile, and their body language, if they were coming on to me, or looking leery, no way – if they were talking like mates, yes.
I could never think wholly like Rachel as Rachel’s personality is only matched by a very small percentage of people, but I guess that is what I think she is subconsciously judging. Even though on the night she and Jason meet, she’s not thinking clearly, and she’s a huge mess. I guess when I wrote this scene, to me, Jason instantly comes across as the guy you are going to trust…

Tomorrow is for regrets. Tonight is for being together.
On a cold winter night, Rachel and Jason’s lives collide on Manhattan Bridge. She’s running from life, he’s running toward it. But compassion urges him to help her.
His offer of a place to stay leads to friendship and trouble. There’s his fiancée back home in Oregon and a family who just don’t trust this girl from the wrong side of the tracks.
But when the connection between them is so electric, so right… everyone else must be wrong. And as the snow begins to settle on the Hudson, there’s nothing but the possibility of what could be – of this, right here, right now. Them.

Fiction Addiction Book Tour: Review of Jumping Ship By Janice Ross

Title: Jumping Ship
Author: Janice Ross
Publication Date: 16th August 2013

Blurb
The year was nineteen seventy-five. Pregnant seamstress, Petrina Dugal, became a runaway at the age of twenty-six. She ran away from a brutish husband, Roger, and a well-loved South American home in Georgetown, Guyana; at the heart of her rebellion – an enigmatic lover named Michael Chen. Pet and Mikey, as they became affectionately known, allowed love to blossom in front of her police officer husband and an intrusive community. Were they not aware of the dangers? Or did the pursuit of love trump obligations?

Pet and Mikey’s journey to their new life took them through a multitude of the Caribbean’s treasure trove of islands – Antigua, Martinique, Barbados, Grenada, Trinidad & Tobago, and Saint Lucia. More than a month later their voyage landed them at JFK airport, in New York USA. And they disappeared, as though their existence was a myth. During this time, barren couple, Pearl and Edward Riley stumbled upon a newborn baby girl. Her cries could only be heard by a true mother, which Pearl immediately became. Bundled up with their new child, they discovered a parcel of artifacts and a scribbled note that read: Sakkara.

Sakkara Riley grew up with two loving parents – adoptive parents to be exact. She never knew the circumstances surrounding her discovery, until the age of sixteen. The personal artifacts that were handed over had haunted her from that point on. After eight more years, including much research and probing, she was given the opportunity to begin her journey of self-discovery.

Verdictdidn't like it didn't like it didn't like it didn't like it
I Thank Janice Ross and Sharon Goodwin for letting me part of this book tour. Jumping Ship is only a Novella but is a start of a new book series called Island Hopping.

The best way to describe Jumping Ship is that is a mystery and suspense but thrown in with a bit of romance. We have two couples Pearl and Edward Riley who find baby Sakkara...the abandoned baby. The other couple Petrina Dugal and Michael Chen. Petrina was pregnant, ran away from her abusive husband Roger and being a runaway couldn't cope with a baby so dumped poor Sakkara.

As Sakkara Riley has a perfect loving family with her adoptive parents as soon as she turns sixteen, she wants to find her real parents..will she find them?

Jumping ship was an okay read, I felt like It wasn't my cup of tea and I'm not sure whether I would enjoy the rest of series, But I may give them a go and see what happens. It would be nice to see Sakkara have a happy ending for sure.
