How We Met By Katy Regan

Title: How We Met
Author: Katy Regan
Publisher: HarperCollins
Publication Date: 31st January 2013

There are some people you can't imagine life without.
Liv Jenkins had been meticulously planning her ultimate to-do-list - from the outrageous to sensible - of everything she longed to do before her dreaded thirtieth birthday, but when tragedy struck she never got the chance. . .
Two years later, Liv's five closest friends have come together on the anniversary of her death and have made a pact: they will complete Liv's to-do list in tribute to her memory.
Over the next year, before what would've been Liv's thirtieth birthday, her friends set out to complete the tasks. But along the way deeply buried secrets, silent guilt, unrequited love and years of lies, rise to the surface rocking their friendships.
When they reach the end of Liv's list the final task shakes the group to their core and they realise that they must face their futures and the consequences of their pasts, and with Liv's help, live the lives they have always dreamed of.

didn't like it didn't like it didn't like it didn't like it didn't like it

Firstly I want to apologize for this review being so late and far behind. I want to say Thank you to Katy Regan for sending me a copy of her book, I loved it!
When I got this book, I just loved the cover so much, the colour themes of Red, white and blue was shouting out how British it looked which was great! It is definitely a British story so any reader who is from the UK can relate to it at any time.

So we have Liv Jenkins writing a ultimate to-do-list just before her 30th birthday when tragedy strikes and she leaves her friends suddenly and no chance to complete her tasks. Her friends Fraser, Mia, Anna, Norm and Melody come together on the 2nd year of Liv's death anniversary they make a pact to complete Liv's list together in tribute to her memory...

This story was certainly one I felt I needed tissues with me just incase, Such a bittersweet and lovely story of friendships and love. I did kind of know I was able to relate to this story very much which I suppose you could say It hit me quite hard when was reading but I enjoyed it so much.

I loved all the characters in this book so much, they all seem stuck and struggling to move on with each of their lives after Liv died, each one of them having their own secrets. Mia was Liv's best friend, a single mother but living with her own dark secret, blaming herself & hidden feelings for a certain someone.
Fraser was Liv's boyfriend and you can clearly tell when reading this book how much he did miss Liv but also having feelings for Liv's best friend wasn't something very good that was going to come out of this book...

The rest of the characters all Jelled well together and just knew this List was going to cause problems and thrifts with each one of them. Melody definitely had her own issues with the rest of the group but the one person who shocked me the most was Anna, she shocked me with her deep down problems she actually had and had kept them so quiet from the group.

Katy definitely knew how to write these characters so well and was so raw emotion. I do recommend everyone should read this, It is a tale about five friends, 1 death and 1 list that is going to connect them forever.

This story is definitely a emotional roller coaster book with plenty of dramas, loves, loss, friendships and life. One lesson that everyone should learn: Live Life Like There Is No Tomorrow Because You Never Know What Is Round The Corner...I Highly recommend you read this!!

didn't like it didn't like it didn't like it didn't like it didn't like it

I truly adored this book ever so much, I was hooked and had to finish in a day because I loved so much. If you are big fans of Fifty shades or Crossfire series then you are going to love this, Yes there is plenty of hot sex but there is also a deep love story between a woman & a man and what depths they will go to to have their passion.

We meet Jocelyn Butler a young woman who lost her family when she was a little girl and brought up with a foster family. Now capable of growing up by herself moves to Scotland for a fresh start and to hide away from her past, Until she meets a dark and handsome man in a suit who is going to rock her world...

Here walks in Braden Carmichael a very wealthy business man who knows how to get his own way with his own dark past but does wear his heart on his sleeve when it comes to family.

Jocelyn moves in with Ellie who just so happens to be Braden's sister and Braden is not going to give up the chase until he has Jocelyn in his bed... Can he get his own way? Or Will Jocelyn hide away just like she did with her family past? ....

I can't express how much I truly loved this book so so much, It was amazing, a truly great love story but also with plenty of hot steamy sex scenes too, made me blush quite a lot hehe.
I just loved the friendships and relationship brought a different side to Jocelyn or Joss as she keeps wanting to be called. I was very happy for her right at the end, tehe!

I couldn't just pick one favourite character, I had to have two, My favourite characters would have to be Ellie Carmichael, she reminded me of herself as she was a bubbly kinda girl and friendly, she even brought out another side to Jocelyn as well which was lovely and Also Jocelyn because I loved how Samantha had written Jocelyn's character so perfect and broken but deserving a happy life, she comes across an independent woman but slowly Braden manages to peel away each layer like an onion showing Jocelyn's true feelings on life which is good because plenty of women can relate to that.

I Thank Samantha Young for writing this book, it was perfect and I hope to see more of Jocelyn and Braden in the future...

Author: Rangeley Wallace

In Things are going to slide, Marilee Carson Cooper, daughter of a prominent southern family, teaches law and runs a law school legal aid clinic in the small Alabama town her family has inhabited  for generations. Described by one reader as "smart chick-lit/mom-lit, law-lit", and another as "the kind of book that makes you keep reading long after you meant to turn the light out."

didn't like it didn't like it didn't like it didn't like it

This is a lovely story of a pregnant lady who teaches law and runs a law school legal aid clinic and trying to deal with family life as well, until the position she wanted the most was given to someone who she thought she wouldn't see again. . .her first love Dwight Hurley now chair of the clinic, Marilee must pull herself together to try and work together with Dwight and put the past between them behind her, Can she do that?

I really want to thank Rangeley Wallace for being a tremendous author and also giving me the chance to review her book, Also to thank Sharon Goodwin from Fiction Addiction Book Tours offering me this chance to part of this tour.

I really enjoyed this story, at first I kinda struggled because I don't really understand American Law so wasn't sure If I could continue to read but I'm so glad I did, It ended up being a fabulous read which had me feeling very sorry for Marilee at times but also happy when she has her second child hehe, a happy ending for her.

I very disliked Dean Sue Scalon at the clinic, was always being very spiteful with Marilee and felt like being very discriminate against Marilee for being pregnant and trying to shove her out of the company but was so happy right at the end, hehe Karma always comes and bites you in the bum ;) tehe!
Things do slide down hill for Marilee but she always has her loving sister Dede and family to help pick her back up. Just glad things do ride back up for Marilee at the end, she deserved it.

I don't want to give too much away from the story but I do think everyone could enjoy this book, Please don't be put off with American Law if you don't understand, You will kind of get the understanding if you carry on reading.

The writing really did flow very well so you can understand and follow all the characters easily enough. A MUST read I say!

Rangeley Wallace was born in Birmingham, Alabama, and lived there (except for one year of boarding school in Memphis) until she went to college at Emory University in Atlanta. After graduation, she moved north to Washington, D.C., to attend Washington College of Law, American University. The year following, she was a fellow at Georgetown University’s Institute for Public Interest Representation, where she received an LLM.

Most recently, she has taught a variety of courses at the Washington College of Law, including legal writing, externship seminar, general practice clinic, and disability rights clinic. The Wish List By Jane Costello

Title: The Wish List
Author: Jane Costello
Publisher: Simon And Schuster
Publication Date: 11th April 2013

There are six months left of Emma Reiss's twenties. . .and she has some unfinished business.

Emma and her friends are about to turn thirty , and for Emma it's a defining moment. Defined, that is, by her having achieved none of the things she'd imagined she would.
Her career is all wrong, her love life is a desert and that penthouse apartment she pictured herself in simply never materialised. Moreover, she's never jumped out of a plane, hasn't met the man she's going to marry, has never slept under the stars, or snogged anyone famous -- Just some of the aspirations on a list she and her friends compiled fifteen years ago.

As an endless round of birthday parties sees Emma hurtle towards her own thirtieth, she sets about addressing these issues. But, as she discovers with hilarious consequences, some of them are trickier to tick off than she'd thought. . .

didn't like it didn't like it didn't like it didn't like it didn't like it

Firstly I want to thank Alice Murphy at Simon and Schuster for my advance paperback copy. I was so excited to hear that Jane would be bringing a new book out this year and I couldn't wait to read. First time i read one of Jane's books was last year and ever since then I've read more of her books and love them, So I knew I was just going to adore this book ever so much.

So we meet Lovely 29 Emma Reiss, 6 months till her dreaded 30th Birthday and is even scared to turn 30, what could be all the fuss about?
Emma and her group of friends are all about to turn 30, as we follow them all embarking the 30's in style, Emma remembers that they all wrote a list when they were younger of things to do before turn 30.. will they complete the list together before they all turn 30? . . .

This book was just brilliant, Jane certainly knows how to keep the reader engrossed and giggling with every chapter. The story just flows so easy and you find yourself quickly flying through chapters because your enjoying it so much. I did feel the title of the book was originally The Big 3 Oh but I am glad it was changed to the The Wish List, It makes it feel a bit more intriguing as to what could be on the list.

My Favourite character would have to be Emma, a lovely plain Jane girl who is stuck in her dead end job and wants to do her dream and I just loved how she took the risk through The List and did it. She was a bit of clumsy girl but you just had to laugh at the things, especially the camping....Tehe! I Loved some of the things Emma got up to through doing her list, definitely had me giggling with her, it also reminded me of how me and my friends act around each other and all do silly things at times. Was so happy for her right at the end..tehe!
I did love the other characters too, Emma's friends Asha & Cally, did kinda feel sorry for Asha but I suppose she put herself in that situation so she needed to get herself out of it when she was ready.
Cally made me giggle alot of the time, even though she was a single mum she still knew how to have a good time with her friends.

The Men in the book, well Hello Gorgeous Matt I would love to meet him even if he does have 3 boys ;) haha! whereas Rob? Nah Im okay thank you and was so glad Emma got rid. He seemed so boring and too interested in himself than having a girl.

A Great book once again by Jane Costello and I Cannot wait for the next one! Hurry along..Hehe!
You truly are an amazing author Jane.

didn't like it didn't like it didn't like it didn't like it didn't like it

Firstly I have Hannah Gammon at HarperCollins Killer Reads to thank for my copy of this book and being introduced to it, I am very grateful for that. Luke Delaney is a new author on the crime/thriller block right now, His first debut book Cold Killing, Luke is an Ex Met Police officer so he has his own insight of scenes that he has seen and crimes he has sorted which meant this book could be brilliant!

This Book Cold Killing we meet DI Sean Corrigan a married man with two daughters but deep down he has a haunted childhood where he was abused so being a police officer he has the ability to see the scenes from the killers point of view. Now He has his hands full with this new case a serial killer, several people murdered but no trace of evidence left behind..this killer is very clever..but for how long?

I am so happy I got to read this book, I am such a big fan of crime/thriller books and when I got my copy of Cold Killing, it had similar feelings to Mark Billingham DI Thorne series which I loved so I had a feeling I was going to like this book, and Boy I wasn't wrong. . .

This is a fast pace book with plenty of action going on leaving you very hooked and trying to figure who the killer is as each chapter comes along and a new puzzle comes in the case. People who love crime/thriller books are going to love this book, the good news as well is it is a new series, so DI Corrigan is going to back..tehe!
I urge you all to buy this book, you will be mad not to!

City Of Bones (The Mortal Instruments #1) By Cassandra Clare

Title: City Of Bones (The Mortal Instruments #1)
Author: Cassandra Clare
Publisher: Margaret K. McElderry Books
Publication Date: April 2009

When Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder. Much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered in odd markings. This is Clary's first meeting with the shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons -- and keeping the odd werewolves and vampires in line. It's also her first meeting with gorgeous, golden-haired Jace. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace's world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in an ordinary mundane like Clary? And how did she suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know....

First thing is first, If your big fans of The Twilight Series then you are going to love this series, You will be hooked after reading this book and will be hunting for the next books I promise you. I think these books are going to be a love or a hate em sort of series..It all depends on the type of book series your after.
It is a girl and boy meet and fall in love sort of story but also has plenty of action and things going around that has you flicking every page ever so quickly taking the whole story in and being so engrossed with the characters.

When I first heard about this series which was a few months back, I wasn't too sure about reading them because I had seen loads of reviews some saying they loved the series and then some saying no just another Twilight band wagon sort of story..And Then I saw that City of Bones is actually being made into a movie right now and saw the trailer and thought it looked good and I thought you know what, I am going to try the books and I can only see can't I? Well guess what? Im here to prove now I loved them and I am now totally on the Mortal Instruments Jace/Clary band wagon now..sorry peeps!

All the characters in this book were written so perfectly and had me liking them all so much and I thought they all merged great for the story. Cassandra certainly knew what she was doing writing this series! I wished i had my very own Jace. I think all the characters kicked ass a little bit and I feel like they jumped out of the book and felt as though they dragged me in the book with them. The shadowhunters come across as very super sexy and dangerous.

It was a fab read and I had it finished in a couple of days and was straight onto the next series! I do think if your a fan of vampires, werewolves and other things then this book series is going to be for you. I do suggest if your not sure though about buying..then try renting from your local library first.
