Ben Lawrence seems to have it all - the hot job, the flashy car, the luxurious apartment. But one tragic day in his past mars his future.

Since the events of that day he hasn't truly got close to anyone.

He made a promise that love was the price he would pay for his mistakes.

When Effy Jones - a bright, ambitious charity founder - walks into the PR firm where Ben works, neither realise that their lives are about to be turned upside down.

Paper Swans tells of how love can conquer all, and how when everything is broken one person can help to put the pieces together...

Verdict
Wow......I fell in love with Paper Swans so much. Heartbreaking and Life Changing....

Being a big fan of Jessica Thompson's last two books This is a love story and Three Little Words, I couldn't wait to read Paper Swans. When I saw the cover..it was breath taking, beautiful and can easily stand out on shelves!
Paper Swans is about a bloke called Ben Lawrence who has it all, the hot job, the flashy car, the amazing luxurious apartment. But one tragic day in his past stops him moving in the future. He won't let him self get close to anyone, won't let himself fall in love or anything...Until he meets Effy Jones, a bright, ambitious charity founder who Ben will be working with part of his job to work with a charity and help them raise money for that charity... Ben and Effy don't realise their lives are going to be turned upside down.

I loved reading Paper Swans so so much, Jessica Thompson is an amazing writer who in this book has written about Mental Health which can effect everybody in different ways even if you try and cover it up, Mental Health is still going to be there. Jessica really approached the story so amazingly and you really will fall in love with the story.

I loved the characters Ben and Effy so much, at first when I was reading about Ben I thought he seemed a right tool and bit obnoxious however reading more and more of the book, my views changed of Ben and realised he just wanted to find to love deep down but that tragic accident is still lodged in his mind...
Effy comes across a care free kind person who will do anything for the people in her charity which is just amazing the things she will do.
I don't want to give too much away of the story as you need to experience the emotions yourself while reading this book.
I adored Paper Swans so much and want everybody to go out and buy all 3 of Jessica Thompson's book as you won't want to miss out!

When young single mother Grace Devlin is diagnosed with cancer, her best chance of survival is to find a bone marrow transplant. But with her young son Jack to think about, and the return of his father Liam reminding her of feelings she’d thought she’d buried long ago, Grace refuses to give up hope just yet.
With the help of her friends she bravely embarks on a journey of discovery – one that will bring her from her home in vibrant Dublin to the unspoilt beauty of Wexford, where Grace must unravel a web of lies and deceit that has spanned over thirty years.

Verdict

There has been so many people and bloggers who have been praising Beyond Grace's Rainbow so much, While i've been on my blogging break I had chance to read it. I knew i would need tissues at the ready!

We meet Grace who is a single mum to her little boy Jack but has a small group of friends who are so dear and love each other lots.Grace finds out she has cancer.....a huge bombshell which leaves Grace wanting to live life to the full. Liam Grace's ex and father to Jack comes back into their lives wanting to prove himself and prove his love to Grace and Jack.

I absolutely loved this book so so much, I cried, I laughed, I smiled and I cried again. The thing I loved about Beyond Grace's Rainbow is reading Grace's story and she is like a breath of fresh air sometimes while I was reading her story, you could also tell she was a very loved person by her friends.

I loved every single character, I couldn't fault anybody. Tom and Gerry made me giggle a few times and Tara reminded me of how my friends act towards an ex! hehe.
Liam made my heart melt as I did feel quite sorry for him and you could clearly tell how much he wanted to prove to Grace how he had changed being a recovering alcoholic.

Beyond Grace's Rainbow is a big huge 5 stars from me for being a beautiful, sad, breath-taking and loveable book, which will make you realise how precious life is.

Caz's review of "paper towns" by John Green

Paper Towns by John Green

ok so ive read the fault in our stars and loved it so borrowed paper towns off a relative thinking I should give it a try even though most reviews weren't great!

its about a boy called quentin who fancies a girl called margo. They are neighbours and very good friends who play outside together since the age of 10. Quentin has 2 other good friends "radar" and "ben" they go to school with him and they hang out.
one evening margo wants Quentin to go on a trip with him to get her own back on people that have been mistreating her. They both go on this trip over night, but the next morning margo disappears although this is normal behaviour to her parents Quentin gets really worried. margo leads a trail of hints as to where shes been and where she might be. whether they find her or not you will have to read the book!

I got straight into the book on the first few pages which is a good sign. I thoroughly enjoyed the part where margo and Quentin go on a over night trip to "wind people up" she didn't get on with. I thought it was funny and had me hooked. However when margo disappeared thats when the story started getting repetitive and slightly boring. Although the characters were really well written....it just seemed that Quentin just continued to check these "poems" out "maps" etc it was a continuous thing throughout the rest of the story I understand these were hints but it was constant!

I give this book *** stars because of this fact and also because I didn't like the ending at all! but it wont put me off reading more books from this author.

Caz's review of "The accidental wife" by Rowan Coleman

The accidental wife by Rowan coleman

This book is about two best friends in school Alison and Catherine. Catherine falls in love with an older guy called marc who turns up one day under a tree where catherine is sitting. Alison is very jealous of catherine and gets her own way and runaways with marc (not mentioning why as it will spoil it) and the girls dont see one another for 15 years.

15 years later alison and catherine both move on and have children of thir own. Alison with her husband Marc and their three children lived in london and catherine with her husband Jimmy and their two children live in Farmington. Marc decides he wants alison to move with him back to farmington to be nearer to catherine, despite knowing that catherine still lives there and she will have to face her at some point.

I loved both alison and catherine they had a great friendship and alison was quite a funny character. Catherine was married to Jimmy who alison fancied since school. so when they finally see one another thanks to kirsty (Catherines next door neighbour) it does seem a bit strange to the both of them but kirsty and her witty personality makes it easier for them.

I hated Jimmy's mum who spoke nastily about catherine and hated marc with a passion for how he treated Alison. however despite all that I thought the book was very well written took me a good 100 pages to get into it but once I was into it the pages were just turning. I shall definitely be reading more from Rowan Coleman. It gets a 4 **** rating from me as i would of liked to now what happened to marc at the end. but other than that is was great!
